If you are in the mood for a New York neighborhood kosher style casual deli, Mo’s Bagel is the place to go. They have all the foods you like such as Hebrew National hotdogs, matzoh ball soup, smoked fish, fresh deli meat, matzoh brei, challah French Toast, homemade blintzes, delicious desserts, and creamed sodas. They have take out, delivery, and catering available. There is also a kids menu. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. They are currently open every day, except Monday.

I visited the Aventura location (North Miami Beach) with a couple of friends last week for lunch one day. There is construction going on in the strip shopping center where it is located so it can be hard to park at times. This location is large and seats 160 people. They are closed on Monday and do not take reservations. It was busy, but we got seated right away and taken care of shortly thereafter. We each got a generous portion of cole slaw and their sweet and sour pickles. I ordered a delicious hot lean corn beef sandwich on rye. The sandwich was piled high so I only ate one half and brought the other half home. One friend ordered the cabbage soup. Someone else ordered a pastrami sandwich on rye and finished the whole thing! The prices seem reasonable for the portions that you get.

I look forward to returning there again when I am in the area to try one of their other sandwiches. It is hard to have the willpower to not order any of the deli items as you walk out of the restaurant.

The establishment is Kosher. Kosher establishments which have meat, do not have any dairy products. On Sunday evening, a line formed outside. A waiter brought us hot chicken broth while we waited.

The restaurant is very cheerful with good lighting and a friendly staff. Pickles and coleslaw were placed on the table when we arrived. The coleslaw was exceptional and not too tart. It was very fresh and had the right amount of sweetness. We had both sour and half-sour pickles.

We ordered matzo ball and chicken a la reina soup. The Mazo Ball soup and mazo balls were light, which is the way we like them. The chicken a la reina soup which was the soup of the day was filling but very good.

We had extra lean corned beef and pastrami sandwiches. One of us order a half-sandwich with soup. It is nice to have the choice. The sandwiches were excellent even though the taste of kosher meat has a different flavor. We enjoyed cookies and rugelach.

Ben’s Kosher Deli has a wide variety of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts. The menu can be viewed on their website at http://www.bensdeli.net. Ben’s Delicatessen has other locations in the New York City area. Boca Raton is the only Florida location.

The Regency Court location is cheerful with plenty of natural light. The dining area has plenty of window space.

The smoked salmon on a bagel was excellent and the portion was a nice size. The Nova, eggs and onions omelet was tasty and not too wet. The potatoes have a great taste and are not greasy.

Some recommended dishes that we have enjoyed for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner visits at this location and others include western skillet, meat lovers skillet, whitefish, hamburger, corned beef sandwich, brisket sandwich and roast turkey dinner. Bread and Bagels are always excellent.

We enjoyed breakfast at Brooklyn Water Bagel Company in Delray Beach on July 2, 2010. The bagels have an excellent flavor because of the water used in the baking process. They use a 14-stage patented water treatment process.

We had a unique bagel, Asiago cheese which is similar to parmesan. We had smoked salmon, cream cheese and onions on the bagel. The flavors combined well. The texture of the bagel is just right, not to heavy. We drank excellent coffee with our breakfast. The water used gave the coffee a wonderful flavor.

At this restaurant you order food at the counter. When you get to a table, you place a card into a card reader. The staff knows where to bring your food when ready. Atmosphere is nice with decent decor.
